Catholic Charities NY Covid-19 Food Drive Event on the Lower East Side

While bookings for my 'usual' types of photoshoots (portraits, restaurant food, large events, etc) have recently taken a downturn due to the pandemic, the shift has resulted in being called upon to cover different kinds of subjects, and in different ways. One of my more recent assignments was to document the amazing charity work being done by volunteers and staff at Catholic Charities NY, who, in partnership with Fresh Direct, were putting together and distributing food boxes for those in need of nutrition assistance around NYC.

From their website: "The mission of Catholic Charities is to provide service to people in need, to advocate for justice in social structures, and to call the entire church and other people of good will to do the same."
They specialize in the providing the following services:
Affordable Housing
Immigration & Refugee Services
Integrated Health
Leadership Development & Catholic Identity
Social Enterprise Initiatives
Advocacy & Social Policy Initiatives
Disaster Services
Foundational Services
Food & Nutrition

To learn more about them and the great work they do, or to request assistance of your own, visit https://www.catholiccharitiesusa.org/

Here are some of my favorite shots from our session (click to view full size and un-cropped):

All images in this blog post were shot on a Nikon D750, using an AF-S Nikkor 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 zoom lens, and individually post-processed in Adobe Lightroom.
