Opening Act: "The Social" Charity Fundraiser at The Strand Bookstore (Manhattan, NYC)
Opening Act is an incredible non-profit organization that brings artistic, career, and personal development mentoring to NYC's most under-served schools and students through their various educational programs that focus on creative occupations. Their annual "The Social" event is held in the rare book room of The Strand bookstore to raise funds for their continuing efforts, and I was honored to have been asked to cover it!
(Funny anecdote: I built this blog about a year after this event took place, and as I was selecting the photos I saw somebody in them who looked familiar, turns out that one of the attendees of this fundraiser actually hired me a while later to take some photos of him, his wife, and their dog…even though we didn’t even meet each other at this event!)

All images in this blog post were shot on a Nikon D750, using an AF-S Nikkor 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 lens, and individually post-processed in Adobe Lightroom using my own custom presets.
