Catholic Baby Baptism at Our Lady of Pompeii Church (Greenwich Village, Manhattan)
The Ricci family recently celebrated the christening of their newest member at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church in Greenwich Village in Manhattan. Attended only by clergy and close family members, we captured the ceremony itself and took some posed portraits afterwards.
Church photoshoots are often challenging due to the low-light and massive interiors that can make it difficult to bounce even the most powerful flash well enough to properly light the scene. Often you need to rely on lenses with wide apertures and fast shutter speeds, but when you increase the ISO this can lead to unwanted grain and noise, so there is a delicate balancing act to navigate here.

All images in this blog post were shot on a Nikon D750, using a Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 prime lens, all individually post-processed in Adobe Lightroom.
