July Doordash Photohoots (Brooklyn and Manhattan)
Even though I took a week off at the end of the month, I had 17 Doordash photoshoot appointments in July. If it’s any testament to the notorious unreliability of NYC’s restaurant owners, roughly half of these ended up being cancelled due to lack of communication from the restaurants despite my many repeated attempts to confirm details with them through a variety of channels (these sessions are all initially automatically assigned by an agency, then it’s up to the photographers to finish coordinating with the owners…and well…). I have since hired an assistant to help me with this volume of “churn” with regards to confirming scheduled appointments, so hopefully we won’t lose so many of them from here on out!
To those owners and managers who are actually available, organized, and concerned about their online presence: I thank you. You make my job so much easier, and you get to reap the rewards of having a FREE professional photoshoot (provided by DD) of your delicious meals!
While DD has their own branding manual I have to follow in order for them to accept my submissions for their official use, I often take a few ‘extras’ while I am there that are a little more creative just to have that I can use in my own marketing efforts.

All images in this blog post were shot on a Nikon D750, using a 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 lens, all individually post-processed in Adobe Lightroom using custom-built presets.
