Artist Portraits in Brooklyn Studio, Clinton Hill

Dan Bunn is an fine-art oil painting instructor at the Grand Central Atelier (where I have often modeled for students in the past), as such we have an established rapport and shared love of fine arts, so our shoot together was perhaps more casual than most. Dan was looking for some updated profile photos to use for submission to artistic publications and on various websites, and I was only too happy to help.

The majority of our photos were taken inside Bunn's private studio, but we also took some just for fun out on the rooftop towards the end of the shoot. Rather than just strict portraiture, I aimed to capture him both painting and posing with samples of his works to help incorporate more of his working environment into the shots.

Make sure you check out his beautiful work over at danbunnstudio.com and on Instagram.

Here are some of my favorite images from this shoot (click/tap to view full size and un-cropped):

All images in this blog post were shot on a Nikon D850 using a variety of lenses, and all individually post-processed in Adobe Lightroom using custom-built presets.
