Menu Shoot for Fossetta on the Lower East Side

Photographing Fossetta, a new Italian-leaning Mediterranean restaurant on the Lower East Side, was an exciting project that allowed us to capture the essence of its culinary offerings for DoorDash (via Snappr). Over the course of our shoot, we documented more than 45 dishes.

Given DoorDash's strict branding guidelines, we approached the shoot with a clear focus on consistency and clarity. Here are some key techniques we employed:

  • Controlled Lighting: I am required to utilize artificial lighting to ensure each dish is illuminated evenly, enhancing colors and textures without shadows or glare in order to keep the images uniform in their presentation.

  • Minimal Styling: Adhering to their branding manual meant keeping the styling simple. Each dish was presented as it would be served to customers, allowing the food itself to shine.

If your restaurant is in need of the kind of upgraded visuals that match the quality of its presentation and flavor, it’s time to schedule a shoot today!

Here are some of my favorite images from this shoot (click/tap to view full size and un-cropped):

All images in this blog post were shot on a Nikon D850 using a 24-85mm zoom lens, and all individually post-processed in Adobe Lightroom using custom-built presets.
